Spirituality: A Paradoxical Journey into Truth

Paradox is a self-contradictory statement that turns out to be true. The spiritual journey requires courage to embrace paradox in order to discover deeper truths about the meaning of life. For example, Jesus tells his disciples that it is necessary to lose one’s life in order to gain it. The spiritual journey requires trust to grow fully into the paradox of truth, so that we might minister compassionately to those who don’t believe or are afraid of the paradoxical spiritual life.
