Building an Impermanent Labyrinth
June 19, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Facilitated by Tony Clark
Walking labyrinths is an ancient practice of movement and prayer, and building one can enhance that experience. By using natural objects that will return to the environment, the spirituality of impermanence becomes one more piece to the intentional reflection a labyrinth allows.
Join Tony Clark in creating a labyrinth on the Centering Space property, near the Lake, that will last a season or more. Learn how to draw a simple labyrinth, and how to use that as a template for larger walkable labyrinths.
Bring gardening gloves and dress for the weather!
$15
Rev. Tony Clark, an ordained UCC pastor, has walked labyrinths at retreat centers, camps, beaches, on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, on parking lots near busy streets, and in quiet churchyards and noisy sanctuaries. He has built simple labyrinths out of driftwood, fire wood, stones, and other found objects. He has served churches in Missouri, Minnesota, and California, and currently works at the UCC Denominational headquarters in Cleveland.
