SUMMARY:Reading the Bible from the Underside: A Journey of Liberation
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Alex Lopez\n\nThis program invites us to interpret the Bible through the eyes of those who have been historically marginalized —   by race\, class\, gender\, or other social factors. We’ll explore how those who benefit from unjust structures have used the Bible to justify their worldview and make their perspectives normative. Alex will guide us to recognize the importance of prioritizing the voices and experiences of those who have been disenfranchised and oppressed.\nAll are welcome to engage in this eye-opening perspective on the cherished words\nof our spiritual tradition.\n$25\n  \nAlex Lopez is an experienced educator who moves in the space between philosophy and theology. He currently serves as lecturer at Cleveland State and John Carroll University\, in addition to being a member of the theology faculty at Saint Joseph Academy. Beyond his academic commitments\, Alex passionately advocates for the Earth and all its inhabitants.\n
