SUMMARY:Lughnasadh: Wheel of the Year
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Catherine Mangan\n\nLughnasadh\nAutumn’s first harvest\nFruits\, blooms\, beauty and bounty\nDelectable bliss\n ~ Terri Duclos                                                                                                     \nCome join us in Circle where together we will create Sacred Space and celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year to the season of Lughnasadh (pronounced Loo-nahs-ah). This celebration occurs in the cross-quarter threshold between the Summer Solstice and the Autumnal Equinox\, and is an ancient Celtic Fire Festival; the first of three harvest festivals in the Wheel of the Year. This festival is also known as Lammas\, meaning “loaf mass”\, when the first loaves of the season were blessed during mass. In our Sacred Space we will share rituals\, symbols\, stories\, guided imagery meditations\, simple crafts\, music\, drumming\, food and drink as we celebrate what we are harvesting in our lives. Weather permitting\, we will gather outdoors with a fire\, so bring chairs\, drums and musical instruments as we together share in the warmth of a summer night. You are invited to wear your “faerie finery” to add to our celebration (think Medieval or Renaissance festivals).

SUMMARY:The Mystical Sense of Life
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Alex Lopez\nThe concept of the mystical does not refer to divine visions or eccentric levitations as told in the stories of saints\, but a deep-set awareness of that in which we live and move and have our being. Our exploration will reveal that we are all mystics – some more than others\, yet all harboring the potential to nurture this profound connection.\nThis will be a conversational exploration enabling us to dive into a deeper sense of divine life\, reaching the profound theological depth known as the mystical sense of life.\n $25\nAlex Lopez is an experienced educator who moves in the space between philosophy and theology. He currently serves as lecturer at Cleveland State and John Carroll University\, in addition to being a member of the theology faculty at Saint Joseph Academy. Beyond his academic commitments\, Alex passionately advocates for the Earth and all its inhabitants. \n
