DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Catherine Mangan\n\nLughnasadh\nAutumn’s first harvest\nFruits\, blooms\, beauty and bounty\nDelectable bliss\n ~ Terri Duclos                                                                                                     \nCome join us in Circle where together we will create Sacred Space and celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year to the season of Lughnasadh (pronounced Loo-nahs-ah). This celebration occurs in the cross-quarter threshold between the Summer Solstice and the Autumnal Equinox\, and is an ancient Celtic Fire Festival; the first of three harvest festivals in the Wheel of the Year. This festival is also known as Lammas\, meaning “loaf mass”\, when the first loaves of the season were blessed during mass. In our Sacred Space we will share rituals\, symbols\, stories\, guided imagery meditations\, simple crafts\, music\, drumming\, food and drink as we celebrate what we are harvesting in our lives. Weather permitting\, we will gather outdoors with a fire\, so bring chairs\, drums and musical instruments as we together share in the warmth of a summer night. You are invited to wear your “faerie finery” to add to our celebration (think Medieval or Renaissance festivals).

DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Catherine Mangan\n\nLitha\nIn the quiet dawn\nWebs glisten in misty light\nNature’s work of art\n                ~ Terri Duclos\nCome join us in Circle where together we will create  Sacred Space and celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year to the season of the Summer Solstice in the northern hemisphere. \nDuring this time\, we celebrate the longest day and the shortest night\, when Nature is at Her most fruitful. She is the Earth-Mother\, pregnant and full of power\, and the Sun is at His peak in light\, heat\, and power. They represent fertility\, growth and abundance all around us. In our Sacred Space we will share rituals\, symbols\, stories\, guided imagery meditations\, simple crafts\, music\, drumming\, food and drink as we celebrate Nature as the Mother and Father who are full\, nurturing\, and powerful. Weather permitting\, we will gather outdoors around a fire\, bring your chairs\, drums\, and musical instruments. You are also invited to wear your best “faerie finery” (think Medieval and Renaissance festivals).\nA donation of $10 is appreciated\nand helps to support the Ministry of Centering Space\n

The simple format of prayer\, scripture reading\, contemporary writing\, shared silence and shared reflection will allow for us to offer our intentions of love and support to our brothers and sisters of the world community.\nJoin us in solidarity to transform hearts of stone to hearts of love and peace.\nDonation\nPatrick Gibbons was a Spiritual Care Coordinator for Hospice of the Western Reserve for 18 years. Previous to working at hospice\, he taught religious studies at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike and Gannon University in Erie\, PA. Patrick has a doctorate in religious studies from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.\n  \n  \n
