SUMMARY:A Labyrinth for Lent
DESCRIPTION:Led by Betsy Nero and Naja Yazbek\n \nOur focus for extended prayer in Lent this year is a “labyrinth\,” an ancient spiritual tool designed to foster contemplation and spiritual transformation. Walked by clerics and lay people alike for centuries\, labyrinths are typically formed as a circle with a singular path leading to a center.\nLabyrinths are one of the oldest spiritual tools known to humankind\, dating back at least 4000 years. They became identified with the Christian church in Europe around 350 A.D. In the Middle Ages it was believed that walking the labyrinth was a form of pilgrimage for those who couldn’t afford the time or the money to make the journey to the Holy Land. That makes the labyrinth the perfect tool for ‘stay at home’ pilgrims like us!\nEach Monday we will choose a themed word or quote to reflect on as we trace a labyrinthine path on paper or in imagination.  Join us in person or on Zoom.\nDonations are appreciated!\nRegister to receive the link.

SUMMARY:Exploring Photography as Contemplative Practice
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Christine Baker\n\nPhotography as contemplative practice has been explored by Thomas Merton\, Christine Valters Paintner\, Chögyam Trungpa\, and others from many global spiritual traditions. This workshop will allow us to discover how to look slowly and with gratitude and compassion for the world around us. Through quiet looking activities and time for reflection\, we will practice shifting our vision beyond mere surface appearances to seeing as silent worship\, lingering in moments of beauty\, wonder\, and delight. No equipment or previous photography experience necessary.\nBring a fully charged cell phone and an open mind.\n$20 / Session or $30 for both \nChristine Baker is a life-long observer and explorer. A trained art historian and self-taught photographer\, she has over 25 years experience as a teacher and facilitator for all ages in all settings – boardrooms\, museum galleries\, classrooms\, and public parks. She is a trained practitioner in the Look Again mindful photography method\, and enjoys inviting others to use mindfulness\, nature\, and photography to nurture well-being.

Bring yourself and an openness to learn and share.\n$20\nSharon Konkoly is a spiritual seeker\, wife\, mom and grandma. \nShe formerly owned an alpaca farm and is currently active in Spirit of Life Performing Arts and Centering Space \n  \n  \n
