November Blog by Mike Reiling ~ “Christ is the Christian symbol for everything – all that ever existed and is happening everywhere and all the time – held in seamless Oneness. Christ is all of reality seen without any separation.” Paul R. Smith
Sound strange? Meditate on – among others – Colossians 1:15-23, John 1:1-5, or Hebrews 1:1-3 and then read the quote above. It will sound very real and powerful!
The early Christians wrote about Jesus, the Risen One, as “the Christ”, the anointed one. This notion of Messiah expanded in later New Testament writings, deeply influenced by the Jewish notion of Wisdom” to become the pre-existent “Word” present from all time and the blueprint of all creation.
This ancient insight got lost in our Christian tradition. It has reemerged in our day at the intersection of science, a creation-centered spirituality, and the “alternative orthodoxy” of the Franciscan tradition. It is an expansive, exciting and challenging viewpoint and it will transform you!
Join our 3 sessions as we explore the Universal Christ; as we read and reflect on the first seven chapters of The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr. You do not need the book for Session 1. Our sessions at Centering Spacewill be three Saturdays: November 23, January 18 and February 15 from 9:30 – 11:30. The cost is $10 a session.
As a frequent presenter at Centering Space, I’m excited to share this exploration with all who come.. Come!
