A Spirituality of Nonviolence: What Gandhi and Merton Can Teach Us

This discussion will look at the spirituality of Gandhi and Thomas Merton
and how their spiritual practice and theological perspective influenced their commitment to a life of nonviolence.
Participants will be asked to reflect on their own spiritual life in light of these two individuals.
Patrick Gibbons, Ph.D., has been a Spiritual Care Coordinator at Hospice of the Western Reserve for 16 years.
He has made presentations on spirituality and the end of life on local, regional and national levels.
Previous to working in hospice, Patrick taught at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio and Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.
