A Food Tour of Jewish Holidays

August 14, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Facilitated by Rabbi Enid Lader

As we make our way through the holidays of the Jewish year, we’ll find that there are certain foods that are associated with each festival. Why do we eat a braided egg bread on Shabbat? What are Hamentaschen and what to they have to do with the book of Esther? Why honey cake for the  Jewish new year? What do potato pancakes have to do with Chanukah?  What makes these Jewish foods… Jewish?

We’ll also talk about the variety of foods that come from different countries/cultures.

Participants will prepare some of the dishes.
Refreshments WILL be served!  $25
