Braiding Sweetgrass: A Book Discussion

August 25, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Braiding Sweetgrass:
Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific  Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants
Facilitated by Joe Konen

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer provides the opportunity for us to form a learning community around our common reading and discussion of the book.

“Drawing on her life as an indigenous scientist, and as a woman, Kimmerer shows how other living beings – asters and goldenrod, strawberries and squash, salamanders, algae, and sweetgrass – offer us gifts and lessons, even if we’ve forgotten how to hear their voices.”

We’ll focus each week on one of the sections of the book.
Joe will send questions to draw out the spiritual lessons
contained in Robin’s wonderful essays.

$15 / session or $50 for the series

Joe Konen is a lifelong learner and spiritual seeker.
A skilled facilitator; he will bring his background as a biology teacher, pastor, and student of sustainability to these discussions.
