Faces of Jesus

May 4, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Victor Hugo once said, “To love another person is to see the face of God.”

On May 4th and May 11th Rev. Dennis Stylski will share reflections and challenge participants  with the following questions:

How do you picture Jesus? Where does your picture of Jesus come from?
What informs it? Who in this world does your picture of Jesus resemble?

Using pictures (because a pictures worth a thousand words), and some words,
like the Gospels, we will discuss what picture of Jesus is drawn from these passages.

In our second week, we will look at artists’ renderings of the past. What images of Jesus do you remember from your childhood.
More importantly we will discuss how your picture of Jesus affects how you see other people.
How does it affect how you see yourself? What is the value of producing images of Jesus?
Where “should” your image of Jesus come from?
Should you have one at all?

Dennis Stylski, a pastor for 46 years, has spent time in the Middle East studying the lore of that region.
He brings a rich understanding of Scripture from the past to today.
