Journaling with Teilhard: The Spiritual Journey in The Divine Milieu

This program will immerse people reflectively into their own evolutionary experience of life

and their involvement in the Divine Milieu and the on-going Christogenesis of life.

In his book, The Divine Milieu, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin SJ lays out the spiritual journey according to an evolutionary and Cosmic Christ perspective. He describes our journey as making active choices and dealing with the effects of our choices. Teilhard also promotes the need to be both fully attached and detached to our work and relationships. In this program, we will enter Teilhard’s depiction of the spiritual journey to enrich and direct our own. Each session will include short presentations, directed journaling work and conversations.

Mike Reiling is a retired high school theology teacher who regularly does journaling programs for personal and spiritual growth. Basing himself in the evolutionary Christian thought of Teilhard de Chardin SJ, Mike also brings in contemporary spirituality from an evolutionary perspective. This class combines both Chardin’s thought and journaling practice. This program is the second in a series Journaling with Teilhard, an attempt through writing to internalize Teilhard’s thought into our own spiritual journeys.
