One Way to Look at IT

May 14, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Judging

Facilitated by Carol Kandiko, CSA

This is an opportunity to really listen to another person’s point of view without judgment.
No challenging, questioning, criticism.
Hear other opinions and, if you wish, share your own.
Donation supports Centering Space.

The idea for this gathering is that participants are willing to be both listeners and speakers in turn.
First, a topic is chosen. This time it’s Judging
Then, a volunteer begins the session with a statement on the designated topic from his or her own experience.
There should be no appeal to outside authority or expert definition. Each sharing should be personal and concise.
After a time of quiet reflection someone else in the group does the same.
This process repeats until all who wish have had the chance to speak.

We trust each other to be bold enough to share their perspective as clearly as possible,
trusting that others will listen attentively and respectfully, accepting what is spoken as one way to look at the topic.
Those who have another point of view are encouraged to share in the same spirit.
Whether or not anyone changes his or her perspective is entirely up to the person and the Spirit.
The whole purpose is simply to acknowledge that there is more than one way to examine any subject
and to have the experience of listening deeply as others speak.
