Centering Space provides a peaceful setting for spiritual renewal and connection with God. As an independent 501(c)(3), we depend on community support through fees, donations, grants, and gifts to continue our mission.
Every donation enables us to welcome everyone, maintain our space, and offer programs and resources affordably or free to those in need. Contributions are tax-deductible and can be sent by check to Centering Space, 14812 Lake Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107.
Volunteering
Centering Space, a welcoming ministry devoted to hospitality and prayer, is led by a committed team: a Director, a Director Emerita, two part-time staff members, and an engaged Executive Board. This leadership group works to uphold the mission of Centering Space — maintaining a location where peace, reflection, and spiritual renewal flourish.
Beyond this core team, regular participants make vital contributions throughout the year by sharing their skills and time in many ways, such as greeting guests, caring for gardens, helping with programs, and supporting daily operations. Their dedication and generosity reflect the community spirit central to Centering Space.
Through the combined efforts of staff, volunteers, and visitors, Centering Space becomes a vibrant expression of collective faith and hospitality that nourishes all who walk through its doors.

Centering Space, founded by the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, is supported by dedicated staff and volunteers. Our goal is to offer a peaceful environment for prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth, welcoming all who seek God’s presence. We encourage visitors to help sustain our ministry through prayer, service, financial support, or sharing personal talents. Every contribution supports retreats, spiritual direction, and moments of renewal. We invite you to join us in maintaining Centering Space as a place of hospitality, hope, and inspiration.

- House: Essential repairs and updates for our 125-year-old property.
- Garden: Mulch, sprinkler upgrades, new plants, and tools.
- Presenters: Fair stipends for our presenters.
