One Way to Look at It

Designated topic for this time: “Holiness”

This is an opportunity for us to listen to another world view without judgment.
No challenging, questioning, criticism. Hear another’s point of view openly…and if you wish, share your own. That would make two ways of looking at It  and hopefully several others.
It will be a designated topic each time.

The idea for this gathering is that participants are willing to be both listeners and speakers in turn.
First a topic is chosen. This time it’s Holiness
Then a volunteer begins the session with a statement from the heart on the designated topic (no appeal to authority, no quoting of books or blogs, no pretending to have the one truth). This statement should be about 10 – 12 minutes.
After a time of quiet reflection someone else in the group does the same. This process repeats until those who wish have had the chance to speak.
So we look to each other to be bold enough to share one perspective on a specific topic as clearly as possible trusting that others will listen attentively and respectfully, accepting what is spoken as one way to look at the topic. Those who have another point of view are encouraged to share it in the same spirit.
Whether or not anyone changes his or her perspective is entirely up to the person and the Spirit. The whole purpose is simply to acknowledge that there is more than one way to examine any subject and to have the experience of entering in to as many as are shared.
