Our Journey into Centering Space…

…began with a discerned need to seek additional spiritual guidance. Partnering with Sister Mary Beth Marquard, HM on this journey over the past year or so has been both meaningful and enlightening. Having found such a warm and welcoming place made us want to engage even more. We were really delighted to learn of the Grandparents Day program in conjunction with neighboring Lakewood Catholic Academy where three of our grandchildren are students. Again, the warm, welcoming environment we experienced on that day impressed not only us but our grandchildren as well. It certainly seemed as if we had found a “centering space” that shared our values regarding faith and family, and allowed us to focus on those values in meaningful ways. Participation in the Bible Study program this past Lent, led by Reverend Dennis Stylski, allowed us an opportunity to reflect, learn and engage in interesting discussion with others on biblical passages relating to the passion, death and resurrection of Christ during that holiest of seasons. It was a great preparation leading to Easter. Mike Reiling’s program on Journaling the Aging Process provided an avenue to view the ageing process on a deeper level as a gift from God in an informative and helpful way, rather than in negative stereotypes so often attached to aging. In all the experiences we’ve had with Centering Space, we’ve found a positive, welcoming, spiritual and respectful environment that allows us to “center” on that which is meaningful to us.    ~ Joanne and Bill Hudson
